I. Purpose and content of the consultation paper

ESMA is conducting a consultation on certain aspects of the short selling Regulation¹ open until 19 November 2021. The consultation undertakes a review of the provisions of regulation after the experience gained from the measures adopted by the relevant competent authorities (RCA) during the COVID-19 crisis, consisting both of short and long term bans.
